LA DONCELLAAn ageless glow surrounds herand all suffuses who wait Great energy and power From her do emanate. Dreams become reality Although not without much change Of risks there is no paucity And a star is in her range The star is firmly fixed To glow in her tiara. Ah, viva la doncella. |
The MapleTis twenty yearsthe tree was planted Delicate maple of Japan It soaked up tears As mourn-time was granted to a dedicated man. The gentle tree grew- and grew With lilies at her feet Near by St. Francis knew And birds would take retreat In the glorious flame of leaves. |
A PORTRAIT OF A LADYA portrait of a lady.A gift for overseas. A miniature of the original Arrived Christmas Eve. She wears a smile virginal Meant only for me, I know Her dark eyes warmly glow. My duchess of Paducah! Her ethnic garb bespeaks Her lineage and seeks To mind me of her traits Of tongue and arts and cuisine A lively spirited gamine As wholesome as the bread From the golden wheat she holds. She gazes at me and my being enfolds my lady. |
