I am a wife and mother of three children helping to run our farm. I grow hundreds of flowers, that is my passion. They helped with the healing process when I had cancer. I write on every aspect of life in my poetry. It most often carries a message which I do not set out for when I write. I have had many poems published in the National Library of Poetry series of anthologies for 1996. I have won the "Editors Choice Award for Outstanding Achievement in Poetry" for three poems. I thank God for my poetry writing gift!

Breaking The Chain Finding Love Again

There is a priority I must address!
For thousands of people who live in unrest.
From generation to generation I pray its not too late!
One wonders how we can allow so much garbage on our plate.
Its humiliating its deceitful and the fear of it makes you lie.
But the most devastating of all is when its seen through our children eyes!
There are many different kinds of it found in every walk of life.
But no matter what kind it is it still cuts like a knife.
Go ahead and ignore it but it won't go away.
Its putting down roots and its planning to stay.
So many will suffer through another ones hands
That is why its imperative we must take a stand
Because abuse is so powerful when it takes on human shape.
So many different kinds of what we call rape.
It makes ordinary people kill and go wild.
Unforgivable when done to an innocent child
Children are our legacy we must make them understand
That the future of our nation is in the palm of their hands
So once again God, I'm depending on your power as my friend!
Help us start the healing process so all abuse can finally end.

Mothers Take A Stand

Every generation is responsible for breaking the chain of disfunction of hatred and heart breaking pain.
If children are our future, we must make them see demolishing prejudice is their responsibility.
Why is it so hard to reach out a hand?
So we can begin to bring brotherhood back into the hearts of man.
If only one child loved just one other, it would wipe out hate.
I want to make a difference so I'll keep reaching out my hand.
To give back faith in human nature, I must take a stand.
The good that we learn is by watching others.
Not through speech, not through hate, for example through the influence of mothers.
From the moment we are born, we are put in her care; she represents what is good, kind, loving and fair.
She releases us unconditionally into God's expert care.
I believe that the answer to world peace has been here all along.
Our mothers teach us faith; they teach us right from wrong.
As mothers, so much love overflows from our hearts, we must utilize that power and give them a spiritual start.
The most important learning starts at birth until they are seven.
They must learn that God's love is the only way to heaven.
So all of us mothers must bond together as one - my hand is reaching out to you tonight.
Help me teach our children forgiveness; they must join hands and unite
Only our solidarity as mothers "can put an end to this fight!"
