Great Yarmouth, UK

I am a divorced mother with one son called David. I have been writing poetry for 8 months. My poetry describes life and feelings. I am learning the piano and hope one day that I can do my grades again. I hope to write a book and write lyrics to songs. I have received an award for a poem which got published in a book called "Between Laughter and a Tear." The poem was called "My Long Lost Friend." I work as a nurse in a geriatric hospital and I will be 38 years-old in October.

My Long Lost Friend

The music is playing on the stereo
I wish you would and say hello
My friend I miss you in my heart
please can we make another start

Every time the memories are there
It hurts me dearly to know you're not here
What have I done to you cause I care
I wish you would tell me and clear the air

Please don't forget me
my dear friend
because I will always be here
my long lost friend

The Winter Season

The leaves are rustling in the breeze
As they're falling from the trees
As autumn passes, winter comes
We know that snowfall won't be long

It's getting colder as days go past
And now the snow's arrived at last
See the flakes come floating down
So white and crisp in the town.

The Squirrel In The Wood

The squirrels climb up and down
where the trees stay on the ground
Their coats are grey with their fluffy tails
as shinny as a steeled nail

The squirrels come out to get some food
some times when they're in the mood
To pick up nuts from the hiding place
and take them back to there base

When winter comes an they hibernate
in their homes where they mate
Till the spring finally comes
out they come and have some fun

Raise a family as big as can be
where they are in the trees
The baby squirrels are a growing
their fluffy coats are a glowing
The little squirrels in the trees

Save The Wildlife

See the seals swimming away
The little foxes as happy as ady
The baby birds flying above
The lions resting with their cubs

The animals seem all so free
untill the humans kill as much as can be
why all this cruelty can't it stop
What have they done, what is up?

Save the wildlife, keep them from harm
for they are God's creatures, only charm
Keep them free, keep them safe
have some kindness in your place
