I have been writing poetry and essays since the age of thirteen. My pen name is DeVonja. I am married and have two children and work at Wal-Mart in Fort Gratiot. I also love reading and crocheting. I am a member of The Famous Poets Society and The Poetry Guild and am soon to be published in two upcoming anthologies. I have also been a recipient of the Diamond Homer Trophy. I have recently finished writing a book and have hopes for publication. Writing has always proven to be a source of focus and healing for me. |
Make A Rainbow I Can FindShow me how to unlockThese chains around my heart To open wide the doorway Make a brand new start. Show me how to set free The wings upon my soul To fly out of the darkness Make the light my goal. Show me how to release The pain inside my mind To see the path before me Make a rainbow I can find. Show me how to follow The yearnings of my heart To chase after the rainbow Make the curtain part. Show me how to love again And show me how to feel And show me that you'll cry with me And teach me how to heal. |
We Will Walk With One AnotherWe have walked our separate pathsTrod on through quiet sorrow We have lived a lifetime Our hearts now ready for tomorrow. Now we walk together And touch the wings of the dove We will float upon the wind Knowing God has blessed our love. We will always know We will never cry alone Our tears will have a purpose Our arms will have a home. We will stand against the storms And drink together of the rain We will share the power Of ecstasy and pain. Our love burns like a candle To chase the shadows of the dark Our flame shall never falter Our steps shall leave their mark. With the wind beneath our feet We will walk with one another For God has blessed these broken paths That have led us to each other. |
