| This poem was my first attempt at poetry. I wrote it out of frustration.
People are suffering and the U.S. Dept. Of Defense wanted to down play
symptoms and label it "Stress." The poem relates to the suffering of our
veterans and their families. I feel the Gulf War Illness could be similar
to what is causing Agent Orange problems for Vietnam Veterans.

What if blood donors pass it on? What if it causes other infections to flare? What if it becomes an epidemic?
What if exercise and hard work make symptoms worse?
What if it is more silent than cancer?
What if many societies are affected?
