I Write, I Write

I write of the abused and the misused
For the weak and the oppressed
For the confused and the distressed
I write for the silent illiterate
With so much to say, but afraid to say it
I write because Alzheimer's lurks in the shadows of the approaching years
Seeking to clothe me in it's dark veil of forgetfulness and helplessness
I write because no one has promised me tomorrow
so while I still can, I write, I write.

To My Children

You, who were created as an integral part of a universal plan
Are god's ultimate gift, to this undeserving woman and her man
He chose my body to be your first home
Through life's trails and tribulations, you need never stand alone.
True, we have no money
But money built only our house, not our home
You are part of a family unit many wish they could call their own
Please cherish these worlds I have spoken and I hope that you will see
Love, my children is not sold here; take ALL you want...it's free!
