America Compared

Greatest home of civilization ever,
Yet the meekest of all that is known,
With doors always opened to share her gifts,
With all peoples, in earth it has shown.

With open arms she embraces all people,
Her know-hows are just there to be shared,
Even her rival boast of her social laws,
As divine among lessers she's feared.

No foreign plenipotentiary,
Can say ought but good of this state,
But will find discontent, or some sort of protest,
At his borders, or city or gate.

The profoundness of her leaders,
Her systems to satisfy all,
The resilience and love of her peoples,
Has made this civilization higher,
And greater and better than all.

Victory

The prize of the winner in battles,
The positive result of the war,
It proves that this side of the engagement,
Got, what he was striving for.

It says the opposer was routed,
The enemy lost the day,
Those who resisted have surrendered,
The champions we are, in the fray.

Most cherished, wish, of mankind,
By the will of the Lord to gain,
For unto Him belongeth power,
With His chosen, victory will remain.

Thine O Lord! is the Greatness and power,
The glory and the Victory,
Thou are the exalted ruler of all,
Praised be thy Majesty.

Grant this, thy will and power,
To them that bear thy name,
Thou art the king of Glory,
And forever art the same.

Blessings

We make life sweeter,
The spices of life are we,
We make all things more pleasant,
These pleasures you're favoured to see.

There's elegance beauty and refinement,
But we need the eyes to see,
The wonderful love of the Master,
In lucid serenity.

Here's refinement and humour to enjoy,
Piety and devotion to regard,
There's philanthropy and largesse,
There are things to remove and reward.

There are harvests to reap, and fortunes to enjoy,
And to collect the profits due,
But you need God's blessings to garner,
Those prizes that fall due to you.

Excellence is a merit,
But you need the prescience of view,
Or they'll pass before us as pearls before swine,
If the light of the Lord's not in you.
