Fyudor Dostoyevksy said - "A New Philosophy, a way of life, isn't given for nothing. It has to be paid for and is only acquired with much patience, and great effort." A few years ago I began therapy, to help with my daily life. At 41, I've really come full circle. Sharon Alpert, my Therapist, suggested I had a talent for writing. Since then I've received 10 Editors Choice Awards from The National Library of Poetry. Writing is becoming my new life. It is my sincere hope you enjoy the poetry.

Gloomy Saturday

The grey days continue
Pressing gloom on my mind like a workman clamps an
instrument.
There is no hope in our world
only wispy dreams of past encounters-
no future,
Only the heavy, oppressing moments of now.
I've been running.
Aching to dance along star-lit mountains,
and you just don't get it.
I run farther away from you now, faster,
and your footsteps pursue me in heavy heartbeats.
Amaze, that's what it's like.
My emotions bump into the walls and bruise.
Broken, I try a different direction.
What lies in wait at the end?
Freedom and another chance at loving?
Or the grim reaper?

This Lifes Journey

The Spirit gives Courage
to fainting hearts.
A seed is planted,
Watered by prayer,
Courage grows-
Reaching ever toward the light.
Standing in God's love
Risks can be taken-
Without fear of failure,
And without fear of success.
Courage is
Walking this lifes journey
Peacefully.
With no fear of others
Or fear of yourself

One Night In Bermuda

The oceans rolls, hauntingly.
An eerie sound of my dark, forgotten past
crashes through my mind
like the confusion I used to feel.
The Tropical night air
Intoxicates my soul.
Echoes of restless waters
Palm fronds in the breeze,
While thousands of bright, white stars
gleam in the heavens,
Suspended in black space like theatre props.
The Drama of conflicting opinions and small hates
is surprisingly Real.
The waves slip back to their beginnings
and
so
do
I.
