Keith F. Arnold

Mesa, Arizona, USA

Married for forty-one and one-half years to Harriet, we have two married children and three grandchildren. As chaplain in correctional facilities for the past 15 years, poetry written by the boys I work with, created within me the challenge to write also. Teacher, Pastor, Administrator, Chaplain are my professional ventures. I dedicate my exhibit to Emilia Marie, Keith Alberto and Montana Lyn, our wonderful grandchildren.

There All The Time

It was there all the time-
In morning's dawn,
In mid-day sun,
In evening shadows.
In the birth of a child,
And the birth of a foal,
And the birth of a calf-
And when a canary hatched.
When morning fog lifted,
When the dew drop was placed on the rose,
The gentle mist began,
And summer lightening demonstrated.
When the warrior died,
And a baby cried,
When another sobbed-
Yes, all the time, peace was there.

The Whisper

As I lay my head on my pillow,
He whispered gently to me.
And what I heard, truly, like music,
Brought peace and, within, set me free.
Again, just at mid-day,
That voice with words so clear;
Spoke to my heart and blessed me,
Assuring that my Savior was near.
It was then in the evening-
At beautiful sunset time.
The whisper of God's Only Begotten,
Brought peace and a heavenly rhyme.

The Promise

Marvel not", said Jesus-
At the things you see me do.
If you will put your trust in me,
I'll do the same for you.
The Father sent me here to earth,
Because He loves you so.
He really wants to bless you-
Everywhere you go.
On the cross, you'll die He said,
That man's sin be washed away.
Oh, how hard it was for me,
When I had to face that day.
In love, will you accept me?
You know, I died for you.
Open up your heart, my friend,
I'll be there and I'll save you too!
