Dave City, Florida

I was born April 26, 1918 in Shellman Georgia to Tannie and PJ Hilton. I was the youngest of six girls. We were poor share croppers and we worked very hard. My oldest sister was the only one to finish high school. I left home at age sixteen and my older sister sent me to school. I was married in 1941 to my husband and we raised five children while he was in the army. We traveled all over the country and the world. We are now retired and living in Florida where I write to entertain my family and myself. I also love to play cards visit with my family and pet my little dogs.

Dreaming

There is a corner in all our lives we sometime bring down a fence and get caught in that corner of our selves.
A corner to stack what we want to save and show some day.
Things we do not want to slip away.
My corner is full slam up to the top.
Look at the years we let slip by and not a thing have we saved,
Nothing to recall, Our memories did not get caught in that corner,
Some are gone for ever. Our first memory? Do you recall?
I don't think so. Oh yes I do. It was love of family. Of where I am. The touch of a hand.
The love of that certain man.
My corner will never be full.

My Life, My Love

Oh what a wonderful person you are
I saw you drive by in that beautiful blue car.
How I wished I was there by your side.
To touch you and guide you on the way.
To hear your voice when you say I love you and need you now and forever.
To look up and see you praying.
Thats my day
Thats my way.
May my God be with you forever.
What a wonderful person you turn to be.
To know from the start you was meant to be mine.
To love, to pamper, to praise.
To love you for the rest of my day.
