"Pepe" Castillo is a physician surgeon who from early childhood was intrigued with the idea that God is omnipresent. He used to question his Sunday school teacher, "Is God within me?" As an adult, and in spite of the distraction of his medical education, he continued to be haunted by his childhood quest. His poetry, particularly during the past two and a half decades, reflects a progressive awareness that the divine is indeed omnipresent in all living beings and all of nature. Pepe now asserts that man is progressively evolving from Homo-sapiens to Homo-noeticus.

Self Perception

When I see myself from inside
Formless I am, eternal
and a self supported entity.
When I see myself from outside
Anthropomorphic I am, transient
and a Life supported entity.
When I see myself from above
Noo somatic I am, beloved
and I love supported entity.
When I see myself from below
a seed I am, germinating
and a consciousness supported entity.
When I see myself on the whole
a prism I am, cosmic
and a Light supported entity.
When I see myself straight in the eye
a vessel of the I, I am.
Self sustained, alive and life procreator
Beloved and love full provider
Light polarizer, potentially  enlightened and aware
of the partial thickness of my consciousness evolution.

Presence

Walking along the beach
the taste buds of my ears
are touched with the aroma
of your salty wind skin

Who Am I?

First the spirit
timeless and formless
evolving from the implicit
to an explicit being, I am.
By the breath of life
involuting within matter
so as above is below
a soul, I am.
Aware of my enfoldment
and conscious of unfoldment
I am the subject
of my own growth.
The spirit indwelling
and the human soul
are children of being
in the flow of life.
