Old Geezer

There was an old geezer past seventy they say,
He went often to the pond to pray.
This old geezer loved the Lord they say,
He saw an angel sitting there,
And swiftly they both flew away.
The old geezer had family that he loved so dear,
The angel said sorry we must get away from here.
Geezers are handy to have around the home,
We usually miss them when they are gone.

Highland Games

Where the mist is on the meadow
and the sun's behind the mount
the Scot's are gathered yearly
to play their games and flount

On Grandfather mountain's glenn
are gathered Scotland's kith & kin
They are anxiously waiting
They are waiting for the pipes to begin

From the beautiful Ceilidh came Scottish songs
told over and over by multitudes of tongues
tales that we as Scotsmen longed to hear
songs of brave Scotland marching on without fear

The Bulge

Bastogne, Belgium, nineteen forty-four,
German panzers are knocking on the door.
The screaming eagles are dug in,
saying thus far but no more.

The little town is under a blanket of white.
Thank God for covering an awful sight,
of ill fated paratroopers
thrown into the fight.

Under a flag of truce German officers came,
and wanted to know the General's name.
The Germans stated our position could not be worse.
They offered to take surrender of the 101st.

Their General was notified with no hesitation.
The General said, without reservations,
"No ands, ifs, or buts"
"The answer is simply Nuts"
