I'm 16 years old. I live in Melrose, Minnesota. I'm in 10th grade and plan to go to college after High School. I guess my pen name is Jessica Lynn because that's the way I always sign my poems. I have been writing poems since I was 14 years old. My friends are usually my inspiration for my poems. I have about 15 poems and I hope to one day get the chance to publish all my poems in a book. I have had some poems published by The National Library of Poetry and I'm having one put in our High School year book. Writing poems helps to relax me.

It's Just A Dream

I wake with happy thoughts of you
I reach out for you and then remember it
was just a dream.

I try to make your memory fade, but when
I think I'm forgetting you there you are
reminding me that my world is gone.

I keep hoping you will take me back, but I'm
only fooling my heart, but it
gets me through the day.

I lie down to sleep I hold a pillow
and pretend it's you. I fall a sleep with
happy thoughts of me and you together again.

I wake up wanting you to hold me close
and I remember it was just a dream.

My Love

I never thought I'd find someone like you
You came into my life not a moment too soon.
I never thought I'd love anyone
as much as I love you
I hope you feel the same, because you
mean everything to me
I hope I can make you as happy as
you've made me.

Broken Hopes and Dreams

They met one night
She liked his style
But he was someone else's
She still loved him

He lead her on said he loved her.
He told her one day he would be her.

It was all a lie he never
Loved her, just thought she
was good. He never cared for her I
often wonder if he ever cares
about anyone, but himself.

But after all he has done
She still has feelings for him
and she still hopes and dreams
to be his one day

He doesn't feel the tears,
He doesn't see the hurt
But if he could would he change?

I don't think so, but I hope
he shocks us all
