Dunblane
Dunblane, the place where Thomas Hamilton
Walked into a school and went made with a gun
He fired off round indiscriminately
He fired at children as young as three.
Brave teachers with their backs erect.
Tried to shield the children from the threat
But still he fired one after another.
At teacher and child, at sister and brother.
When he had finished this terrible sin.
Then he turned the gun on him.
Sixteen children lie dead on the floor.
Such a terrible sight not seen before.
The country in mourning, hid it's face.
No reporters, non of the usual disgrace.
For the sake of the poor families, we stayed away.
Floral tributes poured in on that fateful day.
This government promised a full review
To ban all guns would be the right thing to do.
But when it came to it. The gun lobby won.
Will the next Dunblane be with at 2.2 hand gun.

This country turned it's back on me.
Do you tip the taxi cab.
Do you tip the Pitza boy, who delivers your tea.
Do you tip for the flowers
Delivered form a long lost love.
Or from your date at three.
When you see an ex-soldier
Begging on the street
Do you dip in your purse, to give him a treat.
Or like so many others before.
Do you pass him by, as he sits on the floor.
No Falklands war to fight.
No gulf war, with all it's might.
This country has turned it's back on me.
No home, no food, and no money.
And now I hear in the queen's speech tonight.
That her government will fight with all its might.
To rid the streets of the likes of me.
Who fought so hard for his country.

The Shopping Trip
My wife does her weekly shopping trip.
Once a week to the super market.
Buy one of these and get a half one free.
Lots of things for the Christmas tree.
Two packs of Kit Kat and a free coffee.
The problem is we only drink tea.
Boxes of this, and tins of that.
Some round, some square, some thin, some fat.
Chocolates half price and toffees and that.
The Christmas turkey, not cheap, but low in fat.
Two bottles of bleach, you get one for nowt.
Well at least will have a nice clean spout.
Loads of sliced meat and cheese and spread.
She had to buy that for the half price bread.
I'm twenty two stone, I've got weight to shed.
But I'll just have some pickles.
Before I go off to bed.
