Jackie - Joe Jackson

Brooklyn, New York

I am a travel Consultant/Secretary from the beautiful, warm luscious Island of Jamaica W.I. I am the proud mother of a wonderful dynamic 3-year-old son Dante - Dominic White. I write poetry from my experiences or from others around me. I endeavor to reach deep into the hearts & minds of those who have read my poetry. I am very thankful to a special friend, Hugh Lindo "Lev", who encouraged my writing. I have a collection of Poetry entitled Poems of a Lifetime to be published soon. I am dedicating this book to my loving mother and my adorable son. My favorite philosophy is "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time."

Memories

Memories
of your existence
Exemplifies
My consciousness
of your time of togetherness
Even after our Lovemaking
And I am exhausted
Still your presence
Makes me run out of patience
Because your ability
To Exhilarate
at times makes me afraid
Of my feelings
That are buried Deep within
Choking me to the point
That it petrifies
Me to think that if ever
I had to let you go
Only heaven knows
But never would I let my feelings show
Because Goodbye
I'd say
See you Someday
Only, if only you would know.

The Father Above

When
Have we sat down
and talk to God
God our Father
Father of whom I'd rather
Rather lay my troubles to
To him be the Glory
Glorious things he hath done
Did you stop last night
Today
And Say
Thank you for letting me live
To see Another Day
For the food that we eat
The breath that we take
The steps that we make
The hands we use
Sorry for the people we abuse
Help us to stop lying
Stop stealing
Start Loving
And walk the right way
So that on that Day
When the sky clears
We will all say Yes
It's time to go home

Mother

Mother,
Oh what a word so subtle
Just makes me want to cuddle
This little lady divine
Oh wonderful mother of mine.
