A seasoned financial manager, writer, volunteer and active church member are talents of Iris' (like the flower).  Several poems from her collection of poetry entitled "Life Talk," are published by magazines and in two anthologies by The National Library of Poetry: "Best Poems of 1998" and "Montage of Life."  She is now completing "Tribal Faire," a cookbook & "I Know Why," a children's story.  Iris says, "By writing, I attempt to share my thoughts with you, my unknown friends. Perhaps stimulate your thoughts on common subjects we all think about. These poems are bridge-ways, to answers in our Life Talk."

LOVE

Your space
Within me
Injects Itself
Into my veins
Bitter the Sting,
But sweet your wine
That drunkens me
From time to time

WORLD AND I

The world and I
Destined Rebellers
‘One day for
Next day, against,
I, born too soon
must vanish
back to dust
as if never was.
The world, chuckles
as it revolves for
eternity.

SUGAR

You are the sweetness
Of my days and ways
My true candy
In my sour times
My pure honey
Throughout all my bitter ways,
Some days, you are my brandy
At the fireplace.
Some nights, you are my fire
Crackling on a crisp
Winter’s midnight.
Whichever style you do so suffice
It's cause of you that taste
Comes from my spice.
