Henry Lawrence Nix.

Clinton, Tennessee

I have been writing poetry since I was in high school. I am a certified welder and a shipping clerk. I am an active member of my church, also an avid exercise participant. I have had poems published in local newspapers and by the National Library of Poetry. I am now completing a manuscript, I'm planning to dedicate to my mother and my girlfriend who is my inspiration for many of my poems. Writing poetry keeps me in focus with my God, who has given me this wonderful gift.

I Need A Little Hug:

Sometimes when I am so depressed
I need a little hug,
Or just someone to say I'm here
Or show a little love.

Many times when I feel all alone
and I need your presence near,
Or just someone to talk to
to help take away my fear.

At times I know what's best for me
Still I feel I'm lost,
that's a time I need someone special
to help me share my life.

Then times I write special words
that helps me feel good inside,
Yet still I know at times I'm lonely
and in solitude I cry.

Always God knows my beating heart
and he knows I love to love,
so when I feel so depressed
I need a little hug.

God Woke Me Up

When God woke me up this morning
I gave him all honor and praise
Thanking him for a good nights sleep
and for seeing a brand new day

God is truly wonderful and in many ways
he will fill your heart with joy
and your mind with kind words to say

Simple words like good morning and how are you today
may I help you, hows your family or
have a safe journey along the way

Many times we take things for granted because
we are of this world, but we should
keep our minds on Jesus, be humble like boys and girls

When someone says something nice to you, respond
in a Christ like way, remember to say thank you
and may God bless you today

Taking Lives and Burning Churches

It's really bad to take a life, and especially burn down a church
Don't they realize the value of a life,
and how much a church is worth.

People are taking lives like they drink a glass of water,
Or something you can buy at a store, for only one thin quarter

For those of you who burn our churches, theres only one thing I can say
you will be very sorry on your judgment day.

To take a life or burn a church, its a dog gone shame
But I want you to remember that Jesus has a book of life,
Will Jesus find your name?
