Helen A. Nagy

Cleveland, OH, USA

I was born on January 29, 1919. On July 3, 1941, I married John S. Nagy; our daughter, Kathy Nagy Hustak, lives in Las Vegas, Nevada. My husband is the Commissioner of Recreation for the City of Cleveland.  We've traveled, to Rome, Italy in 1960 for Olympics Committee; to Australia, New Zealand, Figi and Tahiti in 1989; in October I went to the Holy Land:  Egypt, Greece, Turkey and Sicily, as well as Rome. I belong to Lake Erie Amateur Athletic Association.  I'm a complimentary member of Ohio State alumni's club. I present plaques to Outstanding Freshman of Ohio State. Some recipients were Juan Porter, Pipe Peirson, Antinette Winfield and Tyrone Watson.

LIFE

What  is life?
Just along long strife
Gloom and happiness
Both along long stress
When you are happy
you are glad
When you are gloomy
you are sad
People may be cruel
and mean
They can’t be as bad
as they seem.
So even if they
laugh and shout
There is no cause
for you to put
Put up your head
and be a man
Find out where
in life you stand

KIKI

Kiki is my daughters
Lazy Cat.
Thumps its tail
Rat a tat, tat
Sleeps all day
Will purr if you give
Him a pat.
Does not like to
ride in the car.
Especially if the trip
is far
Hates it when she
Goes away
My house he comes to stay
Gave him a green
Tennis Ball
Haven’t found it since
last fall
If I find it I will
give you a call

THE BIRDS AND THE BEES

You can always tell when
it will rain
The birds will go till
They feel no pain.
They tell us to be ready
The down -pour will be steady
Another of God’s creatures
Is the bumble bee
He sure can smell you see
He is always on my out-door screen

Humming and Buzzing
A cacophony mean
When I am cooking
A steak inside
His senses are bona fide
If I give a bite to eat
He would sting me
and retreat.
They will find their own way
Everyday, come what may
