At 12 years old, I wrote an essay on family living in the form of a poem. I won first prize but I gave it up, moved east and got a job driving a truck for a living. When my wife died in 1985, I started to write poetry for contests and went to Washington to a poets convention. Since 1981, I have published 9 books and six books of poems with 60 poems per book. |
Perfect ShadowKeep me humble in your shadowEvery time I kneel to pray Help me find a time to worship At the start of everyday Then I know I'll always find him And I'll never suffer loss Because He will always be there In the shadow of the cross. I would like to be a shadow

TomorrowLife is so fragileIt's borrowed at best It gives you a future So you can be blest Life is so fragile So take time to pray God holds your tomorrow He gives you today. Life is so fragile

My ReputationMy reputation I build each dayI lay a block each time I pray It opens doors for me you see My reputation's really me I'm front and center every day When I let Jesus have his way The mountains that were there by day His precious blood will melt away. My reputation I need it most
