Glenn Caudle

Birmingham, Alabama

One of my first poems was published in The National Anthology of High School poetry. I am retired and an avid rose gardener. I am very proud that God chose the USA as my home! I am a decorated Air Force Veteran having served 14 months in Korea 1951-1952! My wife of 42 years is a wonderful lady named Margaret. It is my hope that my poems might bless the hearts of those who might read them as much as God blessed mine in allowing me to write them! God Bless!

Down By The Sea

The pulsing sound
of moving sea;
The ocean surf-
tranquility!
An ocean breeze-
With sunset's glaze;
Seaoats in view-
and ocean waves!
An endless flow-
of sand and shells;
Ebbed back and forth-
by ocean swells!
The flight of gulls-
along the shore;
A fleeing sand crab-
in sand to bore!
The seashore is special-
a great place to be;
God's love abounds-
down by the sea!

SNOW

Flittering flakes
of frozen white;
A glorious show-
on winter's night!
Wind blown and tossed-
in silhouetting stay;
Uniquely stacked-
on God's array!
A frozen quietness-
all fluffed and puffed;
To warm the inner soul!
Will melt away
another day-
His wonders to behold!

AT BREAK OF DAY

The moment was fleeting
before my eyes;
The chattering birds
were awake to surprise!
Their flirty gossip-
was a sign I know;
The sun it's face
was soon to show!
The stillness too--
of the early air;
Its fragrance fresh
and a resonance to hear;
The soft, soft murmur
of the waking trees;
Can well be heard--
at this moment with ease!
Yes--the moment is fleeting-
for God's array;
In this inspiring moment-
at break of day.
