Gerardo L. Angulo

Nogales, Arizona

With all my heart, I dedicate my poetry to my beloved mother, Mrs. Bertha Maxie Angulo. I will be eternally thankful to her for having been such a wonderful and loving mother to me. Ever since God called her to be with Him in heaven, writing poetry has served as therapy for me. To honor my mother's memory, I have written additional poetry, which will be featured in eight different national and world wide anthology publications. Most of my poetry has been published in our local newspaper, NOGALES INTERNATIONAL.

A Dying Rose

Mother, since you left this world
my life has not been the same
like a dying rose
that has not felt sun nor rain
My heart longs for healing
for sadness seems to be winning
Like a dying rose
happiness has become a stranger
to my soul
Like a dying rose
I await to see
what the future holds
Mother, whether I survive or not
I will always love you a lot
Life is precious like a rose
facing life tomorrow
will be difficult I suppose
Mother, could my life be
like a dying rose?

To Heal A Broken Heart

To heal a broken heart
Trust in God, trust in yourself
look for the beauty that lies within
for each new day, a new life you can begin
To keep a happy heart
never lose your faith and hope
and never lose sight of who you are

To heal a broken heart, look for God
for HE is THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE
Whenever you feel that happiness has left you
and that sorrow has found you
listen to the laughing of children playing
and listen to the singing of beautiful birds
and know that God has heard your prayers
A gentle breeze, a warm hug, a gentle touch
can make all the difference
To heal a broken heart
always remember that God loves us all very much.

Unforgettable Love

My mother is the unforgettable love of my life
her kindness, her strength, her smile
shall serve me as a reminder
of how unique and special my mother was
With her arms around me
I always felt safe, comforted and greatly loved
I feel that she is watching over me from high above
God knows how much my mother and I loved each other
and HE will eternally bless
our unforgettable love.
