Gary began writing poetry in 1992, on advise of a friend, following the loss of a loved one. Soon writing poetry became a passion, spend a moment in time or span millions of years, the thrill of being taken anywhere, even travel to Mars, creating visions with feeling in a minds eye. Friends found reading Gary's work enjoyable and thought he should seek publication. Since early 1996, Gary has work published in various anthologies of The National Library of Poetry, including work published in others anthologies. Gary hopes you enjoy this presentation and thanks you for taking time to view it.. |
I STILL FEEL YOU CLOSEThe pain I feel inside sinks down on the bone. When I read the short quote written on your head stone. Your last breath of life has prematurely been sown, When you passed from this life to the next zone. Tenderly, I lay fresh cut flowers on your grave. All through my body a chill runs down in a wave. Softly praying to God, Please help me be brave. To be with you once more is all that I crave. You have peacefully been laid down to your final rest. From a fantastic life that must have been blessed. Somehow our great plans had become a bit messed. When your life quickly ended at the height of its crest. Though I now say good-bye to my very close friend. Happy memories with you will never cease to end. True feelings of loss, I never pretend. So up with the angles these sad feeling I send. As people of faith we believed God is real. And since you've been gone, it's still what I feel. All though it appears we'd gotten a bad deal, I still feel you close, here now, as I kneel. |
ROMANTIC STARSShe said, You have to get me out of here.Grabbing me close to whisper in my ear. I realize you're only what I hold dear, And losing you forever is my only fear. Along with the back ground of acoustical guitars, You're sending me sailing through heavenly stars. Now, I have come up with the greatest notion. Lets take a vacation over looking the ocean. Rubbing in romance with sun tan lotion, Our senses can come alive with the scenic potion. We'll order champagne from one of the bars, And toast to the food life under brightly lit stars. Another idea has just rattled my brain. Tickets for two on a slow moving train. To view water falls in upper State, Maine. Then walk hand in hand down some long shady lane. Out in the wilderness away from all cars, We both can make wishes on fast shooting stars. Deep down inside is a raging hot fire. You have fast become my hearts desire Like the stars in the sky you're lifting me higher. If I said it different, you can call me a liar. When our first child is born and I'm handing cigars. Deep in my eyes is where you'll see all the stars. |
