Point Pleasant, New Jersey

Born August 8, 1941 lived in New Jersey all my life. I came from a close, loving family. My husband and I have no children, but we enjoy all of our nieces and nephews and their children. I am a member of the Lutheran church since childhood. My last employment lasted over twenty six years as a bookkeeper for two in N A P A auto parts stores. I decided to retire early to have more time with my family. I started writing poems to my mother for mother's day cards as a teenager. I have time now to put the feelings I've always had together in my poems.

Cloudy Day

The sky is gray, my mood is blue,
Oh what to say, oh what to do.
Life is what you make of it, build your foundation strong,
Put your throughts on good things, you'll never go wrong.
Let the bright memories shine on a day like this,
Make someone happy, put some cheer in their day,
When you make others feel better, you'll feel the same way.
So open your heart fo the world to see,
It will work for you as it has for me.

Love Poem

Love is something that is felt within.
Whether it be a her or a him.
It's something that will always be there,
Love appears when people show they care.
When people give a smile or a shake of a hand.
A show of emotion, a little tear or an embrace,
Or just a sparkle of an eye on a child's face.
It's so wonderful to have such a feeling as this,
To hug, give sympathy, to encourage, to kiss,
so start your day with love in your heart,
You know you had it right from the start.

Family

Family is a closeness brought together by love,
It was created by the greatest one above.
When one has a problem, the other knows what to do.
They all pull together like laces on a shoe.
Enjoy your family whether it be large or small,
The children you had have children on their own.
You see some of yourself, it's like your private clone.
All this came from you and the love you have and show,
Like a rolling snowball, you'll see how large it grows.
