D., penned Creative Self-Discovery: A Spiritual Journey into Self to share this wealth of knowledge with others.Doctor Weaver earned his bachelor's degree from North Carolina Central University, obtained his medical degree from Meharry Medical College, and completed his psychiatric residency at UCLA. With a vast background of teaching, consulting, and private practice experience, he currently works as the director of community psychiatry and mental health consultation at the Martin Luther King, Jr./Charles Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles. He has won many local and national awards and an international award for his work on creativity. Most recently he was given a life-time achievement award in psychiatry by his peers and the 1995 residents of the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles, Califoria
