Fighting Bear

Denver, CO, USA

Fighting Bear is very proud of his American Indian heritage. He is a public school teacher and supervisor by trade. He also owns his own company that keeps him busy as an international artist, public speaker and actor. His primary love is putting pen to paper. It has kept him busy authoring historic and contemporary articles and editorials for several newspapers, magazines, and The National Library of Poetry. Fighting Bear is a warrior with an extensive martial arts background. He competed in karate tournaments for several years with a near perfect win record. He earned a Masters of Education degree and is thankful to be included in the 1% of American Indians who have successfully completed graduate school.

Eagles And Roses

We are only bound by our thoughts.
For if there be confinement,
It is born of personal choice.
You and I can settle and become
Robins in flight and budding violets,
Or capture our dreams
And grow to eagles and roses.

Performance Art

Prismatic colored ribbons arched afar,
Like a scratch on Father Sky's face.
Are you merely a routine refraction,
A common reflection, an ordinary
Dispersion of light?

OR

Are you really a mystical wonder
To ponder in silence?

Of Thee I Sing

By my hand I caress you.
With these lips I kiss you.
In my heart I hold you.
With these eyes I see
Only you.
