In December of 1995, I was reading the Charlton Country Herald. There was
a small ad stating "Religious Poems Wanted." I said, "Well, let me give
it a try." I got paper and pencil, sat at my desk, said a prayer, and in
a few minutes the Lord gave me the subject: turn right and go straight.
The poem was accepted and I was invited to go to Anaheim in September of
1996 to recite my poem. The experience was really rewarding. I have written
over 100 poems. My manuscript is being prepared now for publishing. The
title is, Poetry Not Written With Ink But By The Spirit Of The Living
God. I am retired from Duval Country Board of Public Instruction after
28 years with grades K-5th. I am very active in my church where I write
and direct plays for our drama department. I enjoy growing house plants,
roses, and a small vegetable garden in my backyard. Writing poetry gives
me a closer relationship with God.
