Changing Seasons

When white flakes fall round you
You know that "winter" has begun.
When melting snow looks blue,
You know the season's almost done.

Rain pearls drop from the sky
New leaves confirm that "Spring" is here.
Small tots their kites will fly
Flowers with fragrance fill the air.

School out more days for fun
We all enjoy the "summer" time.
Hamburger on a bun
Strawberry pie, this choice is mine.

Gold leaves float from the trees
This shows that "Fall" has now arrived.
Honey gathered by bees
This year many crops have survived

Sum it up, "Winter" ends.
"Spring" brings the rebirth of nature.
"Summer" we visit friends.
"Fall" paints a colorful picture.

Prairie Sunset

The brilliance of the sun
Through red hue so bright.
Across the western sky
Is changing in the light.

We watch and wonder why
The beauty that one sees.
Is slowly descending
Behind a bluff of trees.

The sun disappears slowly
The color fades from sight.
The wind now blows calmly
And ushers in the night.

Sunrise

A faint glow on the horizon
Brings the promise of a new day.
As the sun ascent has begun
It will illuminate the way.

A flickering glint between leaves
Confirms it will be a nice day.
The sunshine bright above the trees
Reminds us all it is midday.

When trying to gaze at the sun
We only see dark spots in the way.
When we shade our eyes from the sun
We enjoy a wonderful day.
