Dr. Pattie Pendry is a writer, a poet and gives the Lord credit for her success. She is married (she and her husband minister together quite often), a mother of three children and is a minister of the Gospel. She is an inspired writer, poet, minister and counselor. She has prayed and met with many movie and television actors and actresses. Dr. Pendry loves people and truly loves the Lord. She has also received many plaques and awards, and she gives God all the glory. Dr. Pattie prays that her poems will spread love to your heart. She has listened to many people in her life and wiped away many of their tears. She wants others to know that there is always hope. She says, "Happiness is not making a million dollars. Happiness is sharing, listening and reaching out to others. I want to be that bridge over troubled waters--to bridge the gap for all people of all nations to come together in love."

If Houses Could Talk

I am worn and tattered
My paint is chipping away.
My boards are beginning to squeak
There aren't any children around to play.

The grass outside is very tall
The weeds are plentiful too.
There is no one to cut the grass
Or show interest in what I do.

I am a house sitting on a hill
My color was once white and bright
Now there is no one to occupy me
So therefore I have no more light.

I used to be very happy
With a family that took care of me.
They would do much baking and
cleaning the floors, and the dog and
cat were happy as could be.

Now I am sitting here, very very lonely
With no one to come and renovate me.
The bulldozers will come and push
Me down, and even get rid of the tree.

Please put a for sale sign in my yard
For everyone to see.
Hoping someone will come and buy me soon
And then they will renovate me.

Let's Come Together

Why can't we come together
Without bitterness or strife
To be there for each other
As a man is for his wife.

Why do we see the color
Of a person's skin
When all we need to recognize
Is the heart that is there within.

Why do we hate each other
Because one is black or white
You see God made all of us
And we are precious in his sight.

When a person's skin is red
Or maybe their color is yellow
Some people began to offend them
But we need to be there for each other.

You see God created all of us
From all around the world
Let's come together and hold hands
So our life will not be in a twirl.

When are we going to reach our for peace
From all our sisters and brothers
And come together within that great love
That God wants us to have for each other.
