Douglas discovered the joy of writing poetry as a young adult. When he was in the midst of personal problems, he found that poetry helped him escape the pain he felt inside. He loves gardening; however poetry is his favorite pastime. Douglas' poetry has been published in newspapers and he has received numerous poetic awards.

If God's Reason Did Not Smile

If God's reason did not smile
How would it be?
How would we be free?
How would God high up above show us Heaven above?
How would there be something as great as Jesus love?
If God's reason did not smile
Would the world come to an early end?
Or would Daniel have been able to survive the Lion Den?
How will Jesus forgive us for all our sins?
Or would it be Satan the David will win?
If God's reason did not smile
How will the Bible goodness unfold?
How will there be great stories of mankind to be told?
How will the world be with Jesus again?
So that Satan the Devil will not win;
If God's reason did not smile

Armageddon

As if time
Was crying
When mankind
Unfolded new power
It's tears mourns
The fate of Earth
That had to
Be cared for
Like and unbroken egg
That had fallen
From it's mother's nest
Handle kindly and returned
The earth like the egg
Once broken
There is no return

If Only I Could Write A Beautiful Poem

If only I could write a beautiful love poem
I would write it special and only to you
If only I could write a beautiful love poem
So that we will forever remain so very very true
If only I could write a beautiful love poem
With more than a goodness like something new
If only I could write a beautiful love poem
Like the everlasting stay of the sky so blue
If only I could write a beautiful love poem
I would pray to God
If only I could write a beautiful love poem
I would work very hard for the Lord
If only I could write a beautiful love poem
With happiness the remain all through the year
f only I could write a beautiful love poem
Knowing that you will be very near
If only I could write a beautiful love poem
One so very very true
If only I could write a beautiful love poem
I would write it just for you
