Doing the best I can.  Retired PBX operator.  Married to the most wonderful man.  Only finished high school way back in the yesterday years, many, many years ago and thank God I'm still here.  My family, such a very few, no greater love to be found, as we are aging, can't figure out, how much longer we'll be around.  I'm a song writer, songs written long ago.  Just got into poetry because I love it so.  Some things said in poetry because I want the world to know, whenever you read this it will bring you joy.  I was here before KILROY.

The Truth

You may ask why I waited so long,
The doors, was closed, and I was so young,
I knew then what I wanted to do,
Tried very hard to see them through,
Miss understood, way back when,
Times was hard, patience grew thin,
Through connection, "reality" was "fraud"
Lies, Lies, Lies, I heard it all
Trust in people, to a degree,
Found out "trusted people" was only make believe,
It's time for everything, life is not a dream,
Failure, is a part of life, some day to try and make it right.

Don't Blame The Children

Children today so misunderstood
Adults deprived them from their childhood
Making sure they are better off than we were
Showering them with luxuries we could not afford.

Working so hard, never at home
Loving them yes, but leaving them alone
All day every day in such a rush
With teenage children that's not enough
Too much time on their hands
They will get into trouble

Some time in to gain's

When young, you tell them, go out and play,
Not keeping an "eye" on them all day,
Staying out as long as "they" want to,
Company they're keeping, "they know, not you,"
Mistakes, babies are born,
From teenager, just to leave home.

Then you ask yourself,
Where did I go wrong,
Learn to listen, what they have to say,
It don't have to be, everything your way.

True To Yourself

Don't use the Lord's name in vain, and think He's going to see you through,
He knows what you're thinking, even before you do.
Be true to yourself, love and help your fellow man,
You never know when the time will come when you'll need a helping hand,
Help fill the lives of others,
Knowing you're doing your part,
Your generosity whatever form it's in
Could mend a broken heart.

Think

Control your directions
The choice is up to you
Don't put the blame on someone else
When they don't like your point of view
Try a new direction
When you take an unobstructed road,
Remember you're not the only one
That's carrying an unwanted load
