Gloria Weinstock, my Theater Arts instructor at Laney College, was my inspiration to begin writing. She taught me how to focus on my innermost thoughts and feelings and how to bring them to the surface. My poems have been published in several anthologies and by The National Library of Poetry. Several others were used as song lyrics and released on two "Music of America" albums and on the "America" album. I believe every goal should be viewed as a challenge to your inner strength and creative abilities.

It's All Good

Life is a dream and
life is a nightmare
Could be that
life is just not fair, but
IT'S ALL GOOD!
Sometimes solitude is
all I desire
Sometimes I want a man around
to light my fire
Can hang in that corporate look
or get down in my evening gown
Been laid back in a silver cloud rolls and
partied in a white stretch
Been standing in pouring rain
waiting for that damn bus to catch...but
IT'S ALL GOOD!
Been used, abused ,
stressed and depressed

Have laughed until I thought I would die
Have those days when I, too,
look up and ask Him - why?

We can choose to sit in a ditch
and go through life never finding your niche

Or we can take it in stride
and go with those ups and downs
on life's rollercoaster ride
When it's time for my last ride

and my days are few
I hope to say
Been THERE

Done THAT
Heard THAT ONE TOO
And you know what...

IT WAS ALL GOOD

The Quest

The quest for self-knowledge
keeps my mind fraught
with lots of strange thought

Why do they come?
Why do I question
where I am from?

Where is my infinite connection?
Is it another time?
Is it outer space?

All I know is
somewhere my strangeness
has a place.

Cars

CARS are a wonderful invention -
to be sure!
They transport us to all kinds of places -
they even win races
But CARS - oh CARS
with their fickle ways!
Make me wish I had been born
in the HORSE AND BUGGY DAYS!!
