Dorothy Warwick was born, raised and educated in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. At age 70, her passion for poetry has spanned over 60 years, matched only by her love of life, family, and humanity. As a mother of ten children, Dorothy has experienced the humour and joy inspired by a loving husband, rambunctious youngsters and an active lifestyle which she shares with others through her poetry. In addition to this exhibit in The International Poetry Hall of Fame Museum, Dorothy has also had poems published in several poetry anthologies. This exhibit is dedicated to the memory of Dorothy's late husband, Tom Warwick. |
Not AnyoneHow can anyone, love anyone so much? After all these years to still thrill at your touch. Just to feel you close beside me, Have your loving arms to guide me. How can anyone love anyone so much? How can anyone need anyone, like this?
How can anyone, love anyone so much?

First BornOur first born child, a joy so wildA flaming bursting love. A rising, sweeping, soaring To unheard of heights above. The wondrous miracle of birth The feel of tender bliss As we gaze at this masterpiece And placing of first kiss. Oh miracle of miracles "God's" gift to us be known. May we be worthy of your love Your trust, first born, our own. |
As OneThe day is dawningBefore the sun has set you two will join together To be as one. Your new life starting You'll face the thunderclouds of storm and sunny weather And you'll be One. The years will pass There will be joys, there will be sadness, but whatever You'll be as One. Because when night falls And God has taken one and laid them lightly as a feather You're never all alone, you'll always be together Because you're One. |
