Della Sarathi

Bartlesville, Oklahoma, USA

I have been writing poetry since my freshman year in high school. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and I divide my time between voluntary community services and the family. I had my poems published in local publications, and in various anthologies by World of Poetry and National Library of Poetry. I was also bestowed with several Golden Poet awards by the World of Poetry. I have penned several inspirational verses that I would like to see in print. I love to write poems that touch peoples' heart and would love to see them become hit songs. I enjoy gardening and welcome letters.

A Precious Gift

Standing firm, tall, majestic
enticing me with thy delight;
Of getting to know the mystery
behind your splendor and grace,
Beckoning me with a soft whisper
you hold the truth from ages passed.
As the substance of life flows
within your veins,
You give of yourself precious
pleasures of life;
You give comfort through,
turmoils and storms
Wrapping me in your everlasting warmth
setting my heart afire.
Sheltering me from the elements of life.
Within your unyielding roots, you endure all,
seducing me with your beauty,
While filling me with peace,
But most of all you open the door
for me to keep on dreaming
While you stand firm, tall, majestic.

An Expression Of Love

My brother, do not fear of me
I mean you no woe,
Why not accept me into your flow?
Why are you so afraid, to let me be?
I am not so different from you
I too have a heart filled with love,
My brother, what are you afraid of?
There is more to me than just my hue.
Why do you not allow me, to show you?
I too my brother, laugh and cry.
Why do you want to see a tear in my eye?
I have so much to offer if you only knew.
My brother, I have a history too;
One filled with pride and joy,
My brother, I am not being coy
I am just as brilliant as you.
