A Precious Soul

A sleepy little smile
As the morning sun shines through
A joyous little laugh
When I come into view
A precious little face
As I cradle you near
A soft little cry
Reminds me, you are here
I cannot imagine
What we did to find Gods favor
As we watch you grow
Each moment to savour
A precious little soul
To guide through this life
A precious little one
To shield from pain and strife
A tiny little hand
To hold along the way
Tiny little feet
To teach to walk each day

Kentucky Wonders

Rolling hills of bluegrass at the break of day
A mare and foal nibbling at hay
Gallant steads being worked at dawn
Frost still glistens in the morning sun

The dreams of boys, the reality of men
Mounted at the gate a blanket of roses to win
Brightly colored silks caught by the breeze
The greatest two minutes in sports quickly flees

From a natural bridge to the Cumberland Falls
To find a moonbow bent in beauty for all
The mountains of Appalachia reach with all their worth
While Mommoth Caves plunge into the bowels of the earth

Mountain Laurel blooms in regal splendor
While across the land buffalo thunder
As the Falls of the Ohio trip wistfully along
The sun still shines on our old Kentucky home

The Silent Sea

Shades of green and aqua blue
The sea painted a thousand hues
Beneath thundering ocean wave
Out of the reach of mariners graves
A living testimony swims in majesty
once the rulers of the sea
A whale song rings from beneath the ocean
A song of praise and true devotion
To the God of creation and of the sea
A sea being robbed by cruel thieves
The whale song drifts silently away
The hands of man have silenced their praise
As God looks down in his majesty
As tears trickle down on the silent sea.
