Friend

Of all the friends that I could have
I think that your the best
I’m here for you as you’re for me
But you’re above the rest

You dry my tears and comfort me
When others do not care
You pick me up when I am down
While all the others stare

As we walk hand in hand in life
And face life’s trivialities
Accepting all the challenges
And possibilities

To have you is a blessing
For me you are so dear
I know that I am not alone
Whenever you are near

I know I have the pleasure
To call you my best friend
And that we’ll stay together
Together till the end

He Went Away

Like the wind you went away
Will you come back another day?
Like the wind so far away,
I didn’t know what to say

Like the water you slipped through,
I came back, I promised you
Like the water through my hands
Will you visit other lands

Like the ice are your lips
Do you feel my finger tips?
Like the night you turned black,
Will you get your color back?

Like a lonely broken heart,
How it tore mine apart
Like a lifeless body there
I had to leave to get some air

All the chatter in the hall
Oh you know; he knows it all
Now we’re all wearing shades
Oh you know he’s got the aids

Though we walk a slower pace
A closed box, I can’t see your face
When they ask; what will I say?
Oh you know he went away.
