David Arthur Jacques

Middle Grove, NY, USA

"A small man, in a small town, with a small garden,"  yet it is my whole world. In my garden, I have heard the very finest stories of life. While researching my family ancestry, the discovery of thousands of years of cultural history lead me to believe the story of French of Jacques in the New World, and 6th and 7th generations American makes me the "soul survivor" of my people. The secret to surviving is to have a proper English education!  I assume in English.

THE ADIRONDACKS

Deep in the mountains
There are many streams
And the River Valley of life;
Begins Again!

It was here the last Indians!
Prepared for war!

They came into my Garden
All ready to fight;
So like  a proper Englishmen
I said, "Why do you want to fight?"

IN THE GARDEN

We smoked
I listened to their story
And said, "Today I will fight"
" I will be your champion"
"You will be my people"
Then they broke their weapons
And left my sight!

I am Cro-man, not man or beast
