Daniel Pavlish

St. Eugene, Oregon

My name is Daniel Pavlish. I'm the Ambassador of poetry thanks to the International Society of Poets of Washington, DC. I grew up in Shepherd, Montana, eight miles outside of Billings and am now living in Eugene, Oregon. I started writing and performing poetry since 1991, and I have recently begun an Open Mike for local poets. I've composed four poetry books, and have some poems published through the NLP. Writing is the toughest job of all.

Trip

Cafe Jones
Young man of seventeen
High school hippie
Long shorts
T-shirt with peace symbol
Peace symbols dangling from earlobes
Earlobes made of tin
A Komodo Dragon
Is it real?
Is it fake?
It doesn't blink
It doesn't squirm
The Nineties are the Sixties upside
down
Do we even know it?
Scrabble
Anagram
Kathryn and Sarah
THANK HARRY AS

Epitaphs

John looked up to see
If the elevator was coming down
It was.
Here lies Mary
She lived a merry life
and died a Merideth
Eddie lived in the fast lane
So fast he stepped on the gas
instead of the brake
Papa,
My favorite train conductor
Did you remember your watch?
Bart lost in a Poker game in Reno
Due to an ace up his sleeve
Tonya ran a race
Against a bull in a Pamplona, Spain
The bull won
Martha, Do you believe me now?
I told you I was sick

Old Friends

I came across old friends

38 Eagles in Hotel California
K-Tels Greatest Hits
Linda Rhondstat
A Broadway musical

45 Commodores
Foreigner
Sade
Jimmy Buffet
Stars on 45

And I buried them in the bin

Round Table

No corners
No beginning
No ending
Everything equal

All members
Have their say
All opinions
Have their voice

Only one direction
The Round Table follows
Staright up
No short cuts

If Arthur's creation
Were used in every home
On the planet
Would our world be different?
