Grandfather Poem (for W. A. Fitch)

The artist never dies. . . You see them in their work
Learn the choices made and the price they paid. . .

I feel you through my words (vision). . .
The "one", reaching out to me, then slowly turn and smile
Throughout eternity. . .

The wealth of my compassion (spiritual legacy)
"Free". . . Left in the ashes of you. . . to me
I found the wealth of my humanity. . .

My guides of mornings past. . . As you've given of your flowers. . .
I'm grateful at the last for our life of days and hours

The artist's vision always lives. . .
I see you through your eyes (creative art)

Learn the choice you made. . .
Feel the price (for liberty and freedom) paid. . .

The Gift (for Henry Dumas and Ms. S. Truth)

"Freedom" can not be given by masters, parents, or gurus
Freedom can only always be claimed of my spirit, my soul,
From within. . .

Even if I tried to give freedom, part of owning my reality to my
Friends. . . This could not be given
To newcomers or oldtimers. . .

The freedom to be fully who I am is a fire (energy lite)
That burns within and guides of my spirit. . .
And rests in my soul. . .

Not one that can be given or granted by pseudo
Authority, sponsors, or friends. . .
