Bremerton, Washington

I majored and wanted to be a war correspondent from College enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where my first poem came about, "Stars and Stripes Forever," dedicated to my Country and its Flag. In 1997 will celebrate my 20th year of Americanism and Drug Program and The Pause for The Pledge on Flag Day, working with 3rd graders. Have honored over 100 students on their essay titled, "My Flag." All my poems have been published by The National Library of Poetry. I have been recognized for both by many organizations and Presidents and First Ladies. My life is truly a dream come true.

Stars and Stripes Forever

As I stand before you, watching how freely you
flow, with the wind all about you.
Brings to mind our last meeting, a small child with
a gleaming smile, seeing you in so many places.
With the sound of music from afar and to see her silent
beauty shine like a star, with brilliancy of Honor and
Pride, sweeping over us and waving so proudly to one and all.
Our lasting friendship grew, in time I knew, whenever I
looked towards the sky.
What a view, RED, WHITE and BLUE with time space, we both
have mellowed and aged together. Through the years our
love-affair has been endless. As sunset approaches with
the stillness and the calm, the Stars and Stripes
are lowered until dawn.
As I think about our future, may you always be there for
the Free and the Brave, who have loved you so dearly.
Good Night rest easy, we shall never let you down.

Hi Dad

As Memorial Day approaches, made a visit to Ivy Green Cemetery
and guess what Dad? Saw some of my former Marine buddies and
Veterans from all wars, you would have liked them Dad!
They came by the numbers from far and wide, they wanted you and
the others, rest easy, that neglect will be no more.
I miss you Dad and the good times we had and I thank you, Dad
for teaching me high standards about life, which I can honestly
say made me a better American. I'm sure you'd be proud!
But I'm sorry Dad, I don't have good news to talk about the Nation
and its people you loved so much, Oh Dad I am so worried!
People have lost their way and we have lost respect.
Oh yes, Dad Drugs and Crime have filled all people with fear
and we should be working together to overcome and look towards
a better future.
I Love you, Dad you made me proud, we'll talk again on Flag Day
I know you'll be there and hope and pray the rest will come also
with Old Glory flying high in Honor of all.
Thanks Dad.
