I began writing poetry when I was a teenager. I had poetry classes in my school, Institute Edison. My father was the late Professor Jose Ardwin. He lectured in many universities in this country. He had many English books in all of the schools in Havana. I am an active member of the Jehovah's Witnesses. I published a book of poems by the name, "Spiritual Poems and Thoughts to Lift Your Soul." I am a member of the Best Achievements In Poetry (a great honor). I think writing poetry gives me the opportunity to share my beliefs with people, and the pleasure and satisfaction of a work well done—my goal accomplished.

Hope

Never complain, your life is hard.
Don't ever think in a negative way.
There's always roads you can find,
And if you take a risk and you dare,
Life holds rewards beyond compare.

The Gift of God

God gives a gift to everyone,
but it is for us to know and
to try to find out what we can do.
So don't wait, until tomorrow,
to discover, the wonderful
new things that you can
do, right now.

Blessing

Don't look at the flowers,
by the thorns, but by the
beautiful petals.

Don't count, your age
by the years but for
your blessings.

Don't look at the misery
of this world, but to see
the beauty that God
created.
Look always at your tears, like
a dew to make you
grow in spiritual
thoughts and love.

And don't ever forget, when
you are going to bed,
to thank the almighty
God, that gave you
all your blessings.
