An Iron Post

Shocking news my husband's imminent death!
Sent a cyclone of emotions that ripped
My heart apart piece by piece.

He (God) carefully picked up the
tattered & torn tissue & froze
it in time.

Sweetly & tenderly He wove it
Together; as my tears made the glue
of His love to hold it, forever!

Now, I am a person not alone....

Sustained, guided, comforted full of life!
I stand an iron post in the
Bridge of everlasting life.
Waiting for my Love's return.

Thru the Shadows

Out of the dung of hell
Oh bloody, beaten, victorious soul
go where the air is fresh
be in green pastures....rest....

We wrestled night & day
tempted by the priest of darkness
on the left....
lifted, cheered, embraced
by the eternal light
lie in green pastures....rest

Hand over hand we climbed
two steps up & one step back
out of the slime despair
lie in the green pastures...rest

Blow all you trumpets
One victory has been won
Say all your prayers
we are not done
lie in green pastures....rest

Thanksgiving

Red, brown, & gold autumn leaves
Take their place beneath your feet.
Bare tree arms extend in prayer,
Thanking God that they are there.
