I have been writing for about one year. I have a son, Aaron. I enjoy writing every day. My parents are Mason and Kathleen Maness. My past occupation was as a machinist and an instructor at a Technical College. Twenty-one years combined US Army Veteran., medical technician and duty at the Pentagon. It is my hope that my poetry will be songs that express my love for God and what Jesus Christ has meant to me. Letters are welcomed in care of The International Poetry Hall of Fame, 1 Poetry Plaza, Owings Mills, MD 21117.

I Follow Him

The Lord is good to me
He provides for all my needs
The Lord watches me
Like a light that shines on me
And provides for all my needs
I will ever trust Him
Put no one above Him
The Lord guides my life
He watches all my life
And any where he leads
The path is sweet indeed
And as a ship follows stars, even so I follow him
I will ever trust him, put no one above Him
and as a ship follows stars, even so I follow Him
I will always follow Him
I will always follow Him

The Gift

I've already written your pardon in red
So go live again I died for you instead
And all of those things
That brought you such pain
I'll remember no more
Now that you wear my name
I've already written your name in my hand
So go live again I'll help you to mend
You new life began
When you trusted me as a friend
I've already written your name in my heart
So go live again I'll help you to start
And all the years you wasted
They seem so in vain
Now you're walking by faith
And you can still try again
I've already written your name in my book
And it's only to me that you have to look
For guidance and love
Former things passed away
Now you're walking by faith
And it's a brand new day
I've already written your name in my hand
So go live again I'll help you to stand
And all of those years
You couldn't hear me at all
I heard every heartbeat
And I saw it all
I've already written your pardon in red
So go live again I died for you instead
And all of those fears
That brought all those tears
I'll wipe them away with joy everyday
I'll wipe them away with joy everyday
