Bobbie Polit Carrier

Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA

I was born in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana and am now a longtime resident of Cherry Hill, New Jersey. I am a retired senior citizen and keep active as vice president of the Super Seniors of Cherry Hill (a social club), and as a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 372 and the Seniors Bowling League. My hobbies are writing poetry, which has been published in many anthologies by The National Library of Poetry. I keep active by bowling, walking, and dancing. I hope to eventually have my own book of poetry published by The National Library of Poetry.

I Am Your American Flag

Color me red, white, and blue
Paint me with stripes and stars
Treat me with love and respect
I have been through many wars
Display me with dignity and pride
For you and me, many have died
Lift me as high as the sky
And let me gracefully fly
Don't let this banner drag

I am your American Flag!

Peace Be Unto All

When Jesus, our Lord arose from the dead
To His apostles, the first words He said
Peace be unto each of you
For in His wisdom, He already knew
That the world He was leaving for you and me
Would be plagued with wars and hostility
He said—preach love and peace
They go hand in hand
Try to make people understand
That love of neighbor is the master key
To the peace that we seek so desperately

A Day In Oklahoma

It started out as just another day
Some at work, some at play
Business, pleasure, who could measure
What the day would bring
Sadness, sorrow—no tomorrow
Shattered lives, shattered dreams
Never again, I pray
A day in Oklahoma
A day in the USA!
