Bettina Klatt-Faistnauer

Tarzana, CA, USA

I was born on August 6, 1982 along with my twin sister, Alexandra. I also have a brother, Conrad, who is nine years younger than myself. I am extremely proud of my German-Austrian background and visit my family in Austria every chance I get. I enjoy taking karate, reading the classics, writing, cooking and sewing. I am currently enrolled at William Howard Taft High School.

Twins

One and the same,
Our hearts entwine,
Together we are always,
For now and all time.

Do not come between us, Or tear us apart, Though distance creates a great wall,
It cannot still the beating heart.

Two halves of a whole,
I must repeat,
Without the other,
One is never complete.

Letter To A Loved One

You've been gone so long I just wanted you to know,
I'll never forget you no matter where I go.
You gave me comfort and you gave me love,
Which still comes from somewhere far above.
When I'm troubled or feeling down,
Your cheerful memory won't let me frown.
I know you're proud of me whatever I do,
I want you to know I've always been proud of you.
I'm writing this so that you can see,
Though you're lost to the world of the living,
You will never lose me.

Good Night

I look up through the tall dark trees,
The dark sky sets my mind at ease.
Softly singing the wind slowly blows,
Drifting lazily as it goes.
In this moment time stands still,
memories tend to wander where they will.
Lift my eyes and I can see,
A thousand stars shining down on me.
Peace and calm overtake my eyes,
I'll close them now 'till the morning when I rise.
