This poem is in loving memory of my mom (Catherine H. Garrett) whom past away December 17, 1991. My inspiration of writing this poem is how I was her leaving this life; going to the next; the love I have for her, and what I will feel and see when the time comes for me. She was a remarkable and loving lady. So us you can see, this poem was not only written from my heart; but from my soul. She is, and will always be, "The Angel of my Life"

The Angel Of My Life

I see a faint shadow,
I see a bright light,
I see God's holy hand
Touching my Mothers new life.
Eight days before Christmas,
God took her away,
Down the Holy path
Of her new given day.
There's no more sorrow,
There's no more pain,
I see the golden white wings
He placed upon her name.
Down the holy road,
I see her loving face,
With open arms for my embrace.
Again, when we're together,
We will never part,
For God will always
Keep us in His Loving heart.
