Detroit born poet B. Cacavas-Brumitt married an Okinowan Veteran after WWII and they had 4 children. Her father, at age 20, was on the Carpathia and saw the Titanic survivors rescued. Both her parents were immigrants and learned the English language. This author has been writing poems randomly for nearly twenty years, presently concentrating on "bringing good women out of the closet" mainly pertaining to our forebearers, our foremother, etc. A tool to help children, parents and new citizens seeking citizenship to delightfully remember what made America great. |
Clinton BewareClinton beware ofdeep blue eyes and ruby red lipsTricky feminine wiles and freaky trips. WFor its the start of a downward swing--- That's toppled many a beloved king. Beware of ties, trinkets and other gifts;
Beware of false confessions and contrite lies.

Celestial HuesAt long last, I've earned my celestial duesGazing upon the hazy, blue-lavender hues. Golden mists flowing deep into our outer space Shimmering silvery white stars of heavenly grace Spiraling, slowly, midst misty burgundy beams;
There's more, much more we could never surmise

The Love That Got AwayIt happened a long time ago on a fateful day;I foolishly gave my kiss away. But, how could I ever resist- His longing eyes, lips just waiting to be kissed. It was unexpected and so suddenly --
I knew right then I'd have to get away---
All through life I'd seen others in strife.
