Dark Forest

In the thick dark forest, silence sang an eerie
song.
A song which time has left behind, once here but
now is gone.

The forest seems to lure me, in a strange and scary
way.
So once again I find myself, walking here
today.
The trees trick their shadows, with lean and lanky
shapes.
And sometimes hovers all around, like a set of rave
drapes.
I wondered as I walked along, what keeps calling for
me here?
The I heard a sound that made, my blood run cold
with fear.
Hark! I hear a footstep, and it seems close
behind.
But when I turned around to look, there was nothing
there to find.
I walked a little further, then turned around once
more to see,
I knew then it was the foot-steps, of my past that
followed me.....

The Old Black Trunk

I was looking at an old house, that I wished to
buy,
When I saw the saddest thing on earth, it made me
want to cry.
Far back in a corner in a room, time has
forgot,
Stood an old black wooden trunk, in a dark secluded
spot.

I walked across the room and wiped the dust, off
the top.
I couldn't seem to help myself, I couldn't seem to
stop.
I opened up the lid that groaned, with all it's years
of rest,
And inside the old black trunk, the items told the
story best.

A wedding dress, a picture, of a woman and a
man.
And an old worn out certificate, that had joined them
hand in hand,
Left alone, to tell a story, with NO-ONE to care at
all.
I wiped my eyes, closed the door, and walked off
down the hall.......
