Ardenelle M. Mason

I was born on 2/25/15 in Fostoria, Ohio. My parents are Harry and Della Allen. I married William M. Mason on 9/12/36. We have two children, Michael and Hollace. My education includes Fostoria schools, Cohn College for Girls, New Orleans and Stewart School of Art, New Orleans. I am retired. My honors and awards include: a nomination for "Homer Diamond Award" (Famous Poets Society), an Editor's Choice Award (The National Library of Poetry); and I've had two poems published, a third will soon be published. I also had an article published in "Lifeline" on agora-phobia. Words fascinate me. I try to instill beauty and nature in all my writings.

"Mind"

The time is now, and like dreams,
Somehow holds the secret to our hearts' desire.
The cool blackness of the night enfolds
And caresses us.
Like the arms of our beloved,
Deep in the web of intrigue.
Love is our desire to be wanted,
As a child to it's a Mother's breast is held.
As lovers, hand in hand
Walk the path of emotion.

"Beachcomber"

To comb the beach of old cape cod
For treasures of the sea
I've followed the ebb tides across the sands,
As though it were a key.
To the golden harvest of Neptune's realm
Put there for me to see.
And as I gazed at the beautiful gems
That lay there on the shore
The tide rushed in and locked me out,
So I could gaze no more.
Till this turning tide exposed again
The bottom of the sea.
I helped myself to the treasure there
And brought them home with me.

"November"

The leaves have fallen to the ground
With rustling sound so soft.
Soon winter will come marching in,
With leaden skies aloft.
Bright autumn hues of red & gold
Have faded to dull brown,
But soon an ermine mantle,
Will cover all the ground,
These precious days we'll treasure,
When winter's in full bloom,
The memories of our golden times,
Will banish all the gloom.
