I was an Ambassador at the Alberta Senior Summer Games (this photo was taken there). The style of the dress I'm wearing dates back to 1889. I have won sixteen medals as a participant in track and field and shuffleboard in the Senior Games. I collect post cards from all over the world as a hobby. I now own 2200. I'm an active church member and singer. I started writing poems in 1989, three of my poems have been published by the National Library of Poetry. Writing gives me a great feeling of achievement. |
PeaceSomeday mankind will begin to understandThat we should live in Peace and Harmony, That there should not be any wars, Nor should there be any starvation, Nor hatred among mankind, Instead, there should be love and happiness And when this love is understood There will be peace among men. |
My Walk to WorkAs I walk to work in the morningI see the beauty of the day I smell the flowers and hear the birds singing, sometimes the skies are foggy and grey But most of the time the sun is shining. As I pass by the Saskatchewan river I see Canada geese huddled together. I see deer running on this side of the river. My morning walks, I will always remember, But most of all, are the tall trees, blowing in the wind. I am greeted at the door by the three cats, Once inside I see three sleepy eyed beauties Who have brought much joy into my life, We enjoyed long walks in the woods together, Amanda, Stefanie and Stacie, I'll remember forever! |
My FatherHe was a jolly little man full of fun and laughter,He played jokes on his fellow men And to him it did not matter. Education he had not, But what he learned he never forgot. He wrote what he knew all about cancer so that someday, there will be an answer. He joined the Canadian Medical Corps. And served in the Second World War. He risked his life, to save others, This man, that I call my Father. Seein' my Father in me is the title of a song Which I can relate to as I do see my Father in me. I have a French accent just like my Father, I love walking, just like my Father, I love being with people, just like my father. But most of all, is my love for children, like my Father. |
