My hobbies include canvas tapestries, tap dancing and writing poetry. In the next few years. I am hopefully going to write enough poetry to produce my own book. As a new member of the International Society of Poets, I have received the Editor's Choice Award for my entry in the anthology, "Awaken to a Dream".

Questions

How do we know what went on in the past?
How can we know the future?
How do we find out about pain and fear?
Who will be there to ask?
What can we do to relieve our sorrow?
How can we show it to the world?
Why should we worry if love is not around?
Who will be here tomorrow?
Why do questions keep appearing?
Why do they go on to torment us?
Should the news tell us about war and crimes?
Or is it the questions they are creating?
This is the story of life,
That nobody can explain for us,
We have looked to the past for answers,
While we await for the future to arrive.

The Golden House

There is a house, all white and golden,
With huge high gates, that rarely open.
You enter the garden, the grass a clear green,
With flower beds scattered, maintained and clean.
The front door opens, inside I peer,
I see a staircase, a crystal chandelier.
The stairs are steep, I cannot climb,
Must leave to go, it's not my time.
One day I'll return and enter within,
The master will then welcome me in.

The Aftermath

When there's gun-fire and blasts,
Lives wrecked in a mad-mans task,
In the hurt and the grief
Many children believe,
We have a cure.
There's illness and sorrows
Lives wrecked, not tomorrows
In the hurt and the grief,
Many children believe,
We have a cure.
Politicians and their policies,
Lives wrecked, nations politics,
In the hurt and the grief,
Many children believe,
We have a cure.
Parents toil and strife,
Suffering other pitfalls of life,
In the hurt and the grief,
Many children believe,
We have a cure.
